Degree/Specialization: Ph.D. candidate in Public Administration; specialization in Decision and Policy Sciences. Dissertation research focuses on the implications of different deposit insurance policies on the banking industry as viewed from a system dynamics perspective. Course work in public administration, system dynamics modeling, policy analysis, judgment and decision theory.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

MindWalk Consulting, 1997 to Present.
President: Initiated a consulting business specializing in the development of system dynamics models to conduct public policy studies for government and to analyze corporate policy for private industry. Clients have included the Department of Motor Vehicles, Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, Office of Mental Health, and Institute for Traffic Safety Management and Research (Albany, NY).

System Dynamics Modeling Support Services, Center for Policy Research, University at Albany, 1996-1997
Senior Modeling Consultant: Developed system dynamics models for public and private sector clients. Conducted technical and sensitivity analysis, and prepared all project reports.

Independent Consultant, Albany, NY, 1994-1995.
Consultant: Provided technical assistance, including sensitivity analysis, to private sector clients on system dynamics models they develop in house. Analyzed census data and other demographic information for non-profits and state agencies. Conducted systems analysis of organizational operations for non-profit organizations and prepared all corresponding management reports.

Neighborhood Preservation Coalition of New York State, Albany, NY, 1992-1994.
Programs Coordinator: Provided technical assistance to non-profit housing developers building affordable housing in New York State. Provided management assistance to non-profit organizations with regard to their meeting contractual obligations.

Arbor Hill Development Corporation, Albany, NY, 1988-1992.
Programs Coordinator: Obtained financing to develop single family housing for low-income families.

Ministry of Local Government and Lands / United States Peace Corps, 1985-1988.
Drought Relief Technical Officer: Administered a famine relief program in the Ngamiland District of Botswana, Africa. Responsible for the overall operation of a district-wide famine relief program that fed 90,000 and employed 6,000. Directly supervised a staff of 30 professionals and managed a budget of $1.4 million annually.

Construction Supervisor: Supervised equipment operators and laborers in the excavation and installation of utility lines.


TEACHING EXPERIENCE

University at Albany, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy.
Course: "Simulating Dynamic Systems", Fall 1994, Fall 1995, and Fall 1996.

Teaching Assistant: Graded assignments, conducted computer simulation games, and taught class in professor's absence. Provided technical modeling support on an add hoc basis to the graduate students enrolled in the course.
